Why Does the Wilhelm Scream?

Brock Kingsley and Jason Wiseman discuss and review movies worth watching in a way that nerd-ish types do when they sit down to chat. Passionate opinions, (bad) inside jokes, obscure references, and rants; there will be rants. Often irreverent, sometimes insightful. Plus, occasional special guests and special topics.

DIFF 2026: See You, Soon with Jay Pendarvis Jr.
Saturday May 02, 2026
Saturday May 02, 2026
Jason sat down with writer/director Jay Pendarvis Jr. to discuss his short film, See You, Soon. See You, Soon is "an intimate, character-driven drama about grief, memory, and the weight of unfinished conversations." It's powerful, moving, and looks beautiful. Pendarvis manages to pack a whole lot into 10 minutes. We cannot wait to see what he does next. He's definitely one to watch.

We were honored to sit down with Ellen Rodnianski to talk about her film, American Baby. A powerful, and beautiful movie about a pregnant 15 year old confronting isolation, double standards, and adult choices. Keep an eye out for this one.

We love DIFF. We think it's one of the top (and one of the most underrated) film festivals in the country. But even great film festivals have bad days.
